Course Content

PERSONAL BEST, PROFESSIONAL BEST
In this session, we learn about the importance of appearance and what it can mean for you professionally. You will also review your pre-assignment.

WHAT EMPLOYEES WANT
In this session, participants will identify and rank their personal top factors for workplace happiness from a curated list of the ten most common motivators.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE
ATTITUDE A key to success at work is a positive attitude. Among the ways to nurture a positive attitude is keeping stress levels low. In this session, participants will explore ways to achieve a positive attitude and learn some easy relaxation techniques.

UNDERSTANDING AND IMPROVING ASSERTIVENESS
Even though you are a new employee, it is okay to stand up for yourself. You do not want others to take advantage of you, so you will benefit by fully developing your ability to be assertive. In this session, participants will also explore how they can improve their assertiveness skills.

TIME MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING
Managing your time effectively and being well organized are essential skills for any job, as they help you get more accomplished. This session will give participants some tools to help them improve their organizational skills, including establishing routines, time management and planning.

ASKING AND LISTENING
Effective communication with your co-workers is key to getting the job done right and avoiding misunderstandings. In this session, participants will learn about two key elements to verbal communication: asking questions and active listening.

NON-VERBAL MESSAGES
Good communicators master language whether they are speaking or writing. They understand that verbal and non-verbal skills are essential in making messages understandable. In this session, participants will learn about various types of non-verbal communication and their possible interpretations.

SETTING GOALS
It is tough to know when you have reached a benchmark unless you have actually decided what you want. Many people talk about goals, but the people who write them down and are clear about what they want are those who achieve them. In this session, you will learn how to set SMART goals. You will also think about what you need to do in order to achieve those targets.
